To make a Friendsgiving invitation and place cards, write one prompt skeleton with a fixed style sentence, change only the quoted text, and run it eleven times: one square invite and ten place cards. With ideogram/ideogram-v4.5 at $0.06 list for medium quality that is $0.66 at list, before Sume's margin, and a misspelled guest name costs $0.06 to redo.

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026. A Friendsgiving held the weekend before it, around November 21, needs invitations out in the first week of November.

What is in the skeleton?

A style sentence you reuse word for word, such as "hand-lettered cream card, burnt orange and olive, small leaf corner, flat lay", then the quoted lines. Using the identical style sentence is what makes the eleven cards look like one set. Change nothing in it between calls.

How do I handle the names?

Names are the failure point. Quote each name alone on its own line, avoid accents unless the card needs them, and read every output against your guest list. If a name is wrong, regenerate that card alone with a new Idempotency-Key; the same key with the same body returns the first result.

import os, requests

STYLE = "Hand-lettered cream place card, burnt orange and olive, small leaf corner, flat lay."
guests = ["Maya", "Jon", "Priya"]
for g in guests:
    r = requests.post(
        "https://api.sume.com/v1/images",
        headers={
            "Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SUME_API_KEY']}",
            "Idempotency-Key": f"place-{g.lower()}-1",
        },
        json={
            "model": "ideogram/ideogram-v4.5",
            "prompt": f'{STYLE} One name: "{g}". No other text.',
            "aspect_ratio": "3:4",
            "quality": "medium",
            "mode": "sync",
        },
        timeout=120,
    )
    print(g, r.status_code)

What does the set cost?

Ideogram 4.5 lists $0.03, $0.06 and $0.22 per image by quality, before Sume's margin (Image API docs); the API pricing page lists the other rates. Medium is plenty for a card printed at 4 by 6 inches.

What goes on the invitation?

Put only the title, the day and the neighbourhood on the picture, and send the address and dietary questions in the message. Printing a street address into an image that gets forwarded is something you cannot take back.
