FedEx last day to ship Christmas 2026: a countdown clip for your store

FedEx's 2026 holiday chart lists Dec 23 as the last Overnight day. Burn those dates onto a silent product clip as authored cues, $0.20 a job.

The answer to "FedEx last day to ship Christmas 2026" is on FedEx's own chart: for U.S. domestic services the last day runs from Tuesday, December 15 (FedEx Ground Economy) to Wednesday, December 23 (FedEx First Overnight, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight and Extra Hours), for delivery by December 24, 2026. A store can put those dates in front of shoppers as a short countdown clip, and Sume produces that clip: it burns your own wording onto a video you already have, with no speech needed.

FedEx titles the chart "2026 Shipping deadlines for holiday packages" and says it gives "the last shipping dates for select services" so a package is scheduled to arrive by December 24, 2026. It also says the dates are subject to change.

The domestic dates, as FedEx lists them

The table below is copied from the FedEx PDF. FedEx Ground and Home Delivery do not have one date: the chart shows a last day per transit time, so the right date depends on the order's origin and destination ZIP codes. FedEx points to its transit-time map for exact times.

Turn one row into a clip

Pick the cutoff your own orders actually use, for example the Ground date for the zone most of your customers sit in. Take a product clip you already have (a loop is fine, the audio can be silent) hosted at a public HTTPS URL, and send the dates as authored cues. Speech-to-captions fails on a silent clip with caption_no_speech; cues with text, start and end in seconds skip speech-to-text and burn exactly that copy.

Sume's standalone caption job costs $0.20 for videos up to 60 seconds, and the available styles include slam, punch and tiktok-green. Send an Idempotency-Key so a retried request does not create a second job.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-captions \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: ship-by-countdown-001" \
  -d '{
    "video_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/example/product-loop.mp4",
    "style": "slam",
    "cues": [
      {"text": "ORDER BY DEC 17", "start": 0.5, "end": 3.5},
      {"text": "FEDEX GROUND, 5-DAY TRANSIT", "start": 3.5, "end": 6.5},
      {"text": "ARRIVES BY DEC 24", "start": 6.5, "end": 9.5}
    ]
  }'

What this does not do

Sume does not know your carrier, your zone or your cutoff time. Check the date against FedEx's transit-time map, type it into the cues yourself, and re-run the job if FedEx updates the page. Shipping dates also belong in text on the product page and in checkout; a clip is a reminder, not the promise.

If you ship with USPS as well, one clip per service works the same way; see USPS send-by dates: one countdown clip per service. For a Black Friday version of the same cue approach, see the days-left countdown.
