When Seedance 2 Mini or Fast is enough, and when to pay for 2.5

A decision guide for Seedance tiers on Sume: what Mini, Fast and 2.5 cost for the same clip, what only 2.5 can do, and which jobs belong on which tier.

Use Mini or Fast when the clip is a draft, a motion check or fits inside 15 seconds, and use Seedance 2.5 when you need more than 15 seconds in one job or the final render. A 10 s 720p clip costs $1.89 on Mini, $3.024 on Fast and $5.778 on 2.5. Sume does not rank their quality; the decision below rests on the hard limits and the price.

What the catalog separates

Duration range4-15 s4-15 s4-15 s4-30 s
10 s, 720p$1.89$3.024$3.78$5.778
10 s, 1080p$4.2525$6.804$8.505$14.2155

Price ratios

At 10 s and 720p, Fast costs 1.6 times Mini ($3.024 against $1.89) and Seedance 2.5 costs about 3.06 times Mini ($5.778 against $1.89). Sume reserves the price at submit, so a batch of finals on 2.5 needs about three times the balance of the same batch on Mini.

A practical split

  • Prompt iteration, framing tests, storyboard animatics: Mini at 480p.
  • Client previews and approval clips: Fast at 720p.
  • Anything longer than 15 s in one take: Seedance 2.5, the only Seedance id that reaches 30 s.
  • Final delivery: re-run the approved prompt on the tier you want to ship.

What to check yourself

Run the same prompt on Mini and 2.5 once, look at the frames side by side, and decide whether the difference matters for your use. A small test costs a few dollars and settles it for your content better than any rule in a blog post.
