A weekly 30-second avatar video for a year costs $298.39 on Standard, $393.55 on Plus and $869.35 on Max at Sume list rates, including 52 caption jobs and the one-time $0.95 avatar. That is $24.87, $32.80 and $72.45 a month on average.

These are plan numbers with no retries. A series is a good place to learn how many retakes your scripts actually need, so keep the first month's real count and adjust the reserve from it.

The arithmetic

Avatar video is priced per second by quality tier: $0.184 Standard, $0.245 Plus and $0.55 Max for a video without a product image. A 30-second clip is therefore $5.52, $7.35 or $16.50. Captions are a flat $0.20 per video up to 60 seconds, and the avatar is created once for $0.95 and reused. A 52-week year has 52 clips, so the creation fee spreads to about two cents a clip.

Standard$5.52$287.04$11.35$298.39$24.87
Plus$7.35$382.20$11.35$393.55$32.80
Max$16.50$858.00$11.35$869.35$72.45

A mixed year

Most series do not need one tier all year. Forty Standard clips plus twelve Max clips for the monthly feature cost $430.15 with the same extras. That is $439.20 less than all-Max and $131.76 more than all-Standard. Decide the Max weeks in advance so the budget does not drift upward one exception at a time.

Top-ups for a year-long series

Sume top-ups are manual dashboard purchases, so a year is really twelve small decisions. A Standard series needs about $25 a month, Plus about $33, and Max about $72, and each includes room for only a couple of retakes. Add the retry reserve explicitly: one extra clip a month is $5.52 on Standard.

If your prices change, the plan changes. The rates above are the list rates read on 2026-10-03; check the pricing page before you fix a yearly figure in a contract.

  • Run the same script on Standard and Max once and compare before choosing a tier for the year.
  • Keep avatar scripts at or under 60 seconds; the avatar route accepts 4 to 60.
  • Log the real spend each month against the plan's monthly figure.

When a shorter clip is the cheaper answer

Length is the lever that moves the annual total most. A 20-second weekly clip on Standard costs $3.68, so 52 of them are $191.36 plus extras. A 45-second clip costs $8.28 and a year of them is $430.56 plus extras. Because avatar pricing is linear in seconds, cutting five seconds from every script saves $0.92 a week on Standard, $47.84 over the year, with no change to the tier.

Product images change the rate too. With a product image the per-second rates rise (for example $0.194 on Standard), so a series that shows a product every week should be budgeted at the product rate, not the no-product rate used here.

  • Plan the length first, the tier second.
  • Reuse the same avatar all year; changing the avatar costs another $0.95 and breaks continuity.
  • Treat the monthly Max clip as a named budget line.

What this plan does not include

There is no music bed, no thumbnail and no retry in these totals. A bed from Lyria 3.5 is $0.125 per track, and a medium-quality thumbnail is $0.055625, together about $0.18 a week or $9.39 a year. Add them if you use them. Taxes, plan fees and any other workspace spend are also outside the figures.
