Vidu not on Sume: an 8-second bake-off across six rows for $11.05

Sume does not list Vidu Q4. Run the same 8-second brief on six listed rows at 720p or 768p for $11.05 in total, from $0.60 to $4.62 each.

The short answer

Vidu Q4 Preview is not in Sume's catalog, so a buyer who wants to compare a Vidu clip against Sume output has to pick Sume rows to stand in for it. Six listed rows cover the range: MiniMax H3, MiniMax H3 Max, Wan 3.0, Gemini Omni Flash 1.1, Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5. At 8 seconds and 720p or 768p, one clip from each costs $11.0464 in total. Vidu's own 540P list rate, 8 x $0.045 = $0.36, is the reference line.

The six rows

MiniMax H3 is native 480p and 768p, so it runs at 768p rather than 720p. Every row accepts 8 seconds.

How to read the bake-off

The cheapest cell is MiniMax H3 at $0.60 and the dearest is Seedance 2.5 at $4.6224, a spread of 7.7x for the same 8 seconds. If two clips look the same to your client, the cheaper row wins. If one has a visibly better face or hand, you have a price for the difference.

Do not judge on one prompt. Use a prompt that matches the work you will actually buy, such as a product on a desk or a person talking, and run it once on each row. The Vidu release highlights lighting, texture and lifelike performance, so include a close-up face in the set.

Running it

Send the same body to each model id with POST /v1/video-router/generate, changing only model and, where needed, resolution. Use a distinct Idempotency-Key for each, such as the model id plus a run number. The Video Router docs list each row's limits, and the catalog check in this post confirms whether Vidu has been added since this was written.

Price per kept clip, not per clip

The cheapest row is not always the cheapest outcome. Suppose, as an illustration with made-up keep rates, that you keep one take in three from MiniMax H3 and two in three from Seedance 2.5. The cost per kept clip is 3 x $0.60 / 1 = $1.80 for MiniMax H3 and 3 x $4.6224 / 2 = $6.9336 for Seedance 2.5. The gap narrows from 7.7x to 3.9x. Your own keep rates will differ, so count them from the bake-off itself and recompute with the same formula: price per clip, times takes, divided by clips kept.
