Vidu Q4 Preview offers 540p, 720p, 1080p, 2K and 4K output, with 10-bit colour depth, for clips up to 16 seconds. Sume's video catalog lists 4K on exactly one row, Gemini Omni Flash 1.1, and that row runs 3 to 10 seconds. Every other row tops out at 1080p. So a 4K deliverable longer than 10 seconds is not something you can request from a single Sume job today.

Resolution ceilings compared

Vidu's image-to-video page gives the resolution list and a 720p default. The GlobeNewswire release quotes $0.045 a second at 540p up to $0.39 a second at 4K. Sume's rates are provider list times 1.25, and the table uses the list values in the repo.

Request a 4K Omni clip

Omni accepts 4K as the resolution and also the lowercase alias 4k. Aspect ratio is 16:9 or 9:16 only, and native audio is always on. A 10-second 4K clip is $3.75 on Sume.

Steps:

  • Set model to gemini-omni-flash-1.1.
  • Set resolution to 4K and duration between 3 and 10.
  • Use aspect_ratio 16:9 or 9:16.
  • Download from unsigned_urls[0] once the job is completed.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/videos \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"model":"gemini-omni-flash-1.1","prompt":"Slow dolly over a rain-lit street market","resolution":"4K","duration":10,"aspect_ratio":"16:9"}'

When 1080p is enough

Most social and web delivery is 1080p or lower. A 9:16 clip for a phone feed gains little from 4K, and the upload step of the platform will often recompress it anyway. 4K earns its price when you will crop in, reframe a wide shot into a vertical, or deliver to a large display.

On Sume, a useful pattern is to draft at a cheap resolution and re-render only the shots that are approved. A 10 second Omni draft at 360p is about $0.38 after rounding up to the cent, and the same shot at 4K is $3.75, so a ten-shot approval pass costs about a tenth of rendering everything at 4K immediately. Omni caps at 10 seconds, so each shot must fit that length.

If a shot needs to run past 10 seconds, plan the cut in advance: end the first clip on a held pose, use its last frame as the first_frame of the next job, and join the two on the timeline. The seam will show if the camera is moving, so prefer static or slow moves at the join.

What Sume does not do

Sume does not list 2K as a video resolution on these rows, does not state 10-bit colour for any video row, and does not offer a 4K clip over 10 seconds in one job. If you need 4K at 16 seconds, Vidu's own platform is the place to ask for it. For longer Sume sequences you can join several Omni clips on the timeline, at the price of cuts between them.
