Veo 3.1 eight-second clip price: $0.40 on Lite to $4.80 on Standard 4K
On the Gemini API an 8-second Veo 3.1 clip costs $3.20 on Standard, $0.80 to $2.40 on Fast and $0.40 to $0.64 on Lite. The table prices every tier.

At the Gemini API's listed per-second rates, an 8-second Veo 3.1 clip costs $3.20 on Standard at 720p or 1080p, $4.80 on Standard at 4K, $0.80 to $2.40 on Fast and $0.40 to $0.64 on Lite. Read 2026-10-03 from Google's Gemini API pricing page.
Veo 3.1 has three variants and the price spans an order of magnitude from the cheapest to the dearest, so the variant is a bigger decision than the clip length.
The rates
Google lists Veo 3.1 Standard at $0.40 a second for 720p and 1080p and $0.60 for 4K. Fast is $0.10 at 720p, $0.12 at 1080p and $0.30 at 4K. Lite is $0.05 at 720p and $0.08 at 1080p and does not support 4K. The table multiplies each rate by 8 seconds and by 4 seconds so you can scale it to your clip.
| Variant | Resolution | Per second | 4 seconds | 8 seconds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 720p / 1080p | $0.40 | $1.60 | $3.20 |
| Standard | 4K | $0.60 | $2.40 | $4.80 |
| Fast | 720p | $0.10 | $0.40 | $0.80 |
| Fast | 1080p | $0.12 | $0.48 | $0.96 |
| Fast | 4K | $0.30 | $1.20 | $2.40 |
| Lite | 720p | $0.05 | $0.20 | $0.40 |
| Lite | 1080p | $0.08 | $0.32 | $0.64 |
How retakes change the budget
If one clip in three is kept, the cost of a kept 8-second clip is three times the generation price: $9.60 on Standard 1080p, $2.88 on Fast 1080p and $1.92 on Lite 1080p. That is arithmetic on the list rates with an assumed keep rate of one in three, not a measured one.
The 4K step is the expensive one: Fast at 4K is 2.5 times Fast at 1080p, and Standard at 4K is 1.5 times Standard at 1080p.
A note on what Sume carries
Sume's Video Router catalog does not list Veo as a model id; its documented models are Seedance, Kling 3, Wan 3.0, Grok Imagine Video, MiniMax H3, Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 and the recast and motion-transfer models. The closest Google-family row is Gemini Omni Flash 1.1, listed at $0.03, $0.10, $0.15 and $0.30 a second for 360p, 720p, 1080p and 4K, and billed at list times 1.25. That makes an 8-second 720p Omni clip $1.00 before cent rounding, against $0.80 for Veo 3.1 Fast at 720p on the Gemini API. The two are different models, so the price gap is not a quality statement.
Limits
Pick the variant first, the resolution second, and the clip length last.
- Google lists no minimum or maximum clip length in the part of the page I read.
- Audio inclusion and any extra charge for it are not shown in this summary.
- Prices are Google's list; third-party hosts price Veo differently.
