Trending videos search for holiday hooks: TikTok metadata only
Sume's trending-videos search returns TikTok video metadata for hook research at $0.10 per call; it does not return downloadable files.

What the endpoint is for
POST /v1/trending-videos/search returns ranked public TikTok video metadata for a brand, product, creator or keyword. It is a paid research utility, not a generation model, and each accepted call reserves and captures $0.10 of Sume usage (confirm in GET /v1/catalog).
It returns public watch URLs, optional cover thumbnails, author handles, metrics and relevance scores, not raw video files. Use the results to pick hook patterns, then make your own clip.
Query a seasonal hook
In production a query is required (up to 200 characters), with limit 1 to 50 and a window of yesterday, this-week, this-month, last-3-months, last-6-months or all-time. Generic queries default to this-month. platform supports only tiktok today.
curl -sS -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/trending-videos/search \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"query": "black friday haul",
"window": "this-week",
"region": "US",
"limit": 10,
"summary_mode": "metadata"
}'Fields worth setting
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| window | yesterday through all-time; generic queries default to this-month |
| limit | production 1 to 50, default 10 |
| region | optional two-letter country code |
| summary_mode | none (default), metadata, or transcript; transcript currently returns an unsupported warning |
| download | reserved; values above zero return an unsupported warning |
From research to your own clip
Download is not implemented, so the endpoint does not feed face swap or captions with the TikTok files. Study the metadata, then film or generate your own material, and use Reference ingest on a clip your workspace owns when you want a shot and text manifest. A rebuilt browse feed with no query exists on the development host, and production stays on the legacy contract until the flag is set, so treat query as required.
