Sume's trending-videos search costs $0.10 per accepted call. The docs say each accepted call reserves and captures that amount, and the price includes summary_mode: metadata. Fifty searches therefore cost $5.00.

Budget table

The docs describe one per-call price. They add that the cache can serve repeat browse calls so that they do not hit the upstream source again.

Trend search totals at $0.10 per accepted call, from the Trending videos docs, read 2026-10-04
SearchesTotalEqual to
10$1.001.6 five-second Wan 720p clips
50$5.008 five-second Wan 720p clips
500$50.0080 five-second Wan 720p clips

What you get for the price

The MVP supports TikTok only. A search takes a query (brand, product, creator or keyword) and a time window from yesterday through all-time, and returns ranked videos. The docs say known profiles may return fewer results than the limit instead of padding weak matches. Transcript summaries and download or mirroring are not supported.

A research budget in context

A typical research pass might be five themes searched across three windows, which is 15 calls and $1.50. Compared with generation, that is cheap: it is less than three 5-second Wan 720p clips. The risk is not the price but the habit of re-running the same search. Save the output in your own storage the first time.

The reserve and capture happen per accepted call, so a call that is rejected for a bad request, for example an unsupported platform value, is not an accepted call. Check the response before you budget on that assumption.

Spending it well

  • Search once per theme and save the result; a repeat search is another $0.10 unless the cache serves it, and the cache is not something to budget on.
  • Use the narrowest window that answers the question. The default for other queries is this month.
  • Check the live price in GET /v1/catalog, since the docs themselves point there for confirmation.
