At 1 million characters a month, MAI-Voice-2.1-Flash costs $15, MAI-Voice-2.1 costs $22 and Sume TTS costs $47.50. At 20 million the figures are $300, $440 and $950, so the absolute gap is what to weigh against what else you need from the platform.

Microsoft's prices are $15 and $22 per million characters, per its announcement. Sume's rate is $0.0475 per 1,000 characters on the rate card, with up to 20,000 characters per request.

Reading the result

Sume is the higher-priced option for raw text-to-speech volume. If you need only voice, the table says so; if voice sits in a pipeline with video and a render, compare whole-job costs instead.
