What are the Instant Page specs?

TikTok's Instant Page article (July 2025) says images are JPG, JPEG or PNG up to 2 MB, and videos and carousels are MOV or MP4 up to 100 MB. It lists seven components for a page. Only images, videos and carousels have documented size specs on that page, so I do not state limits for other components. I read it on 2026-10-03.

Why is 2 MB the limit that catches people?

A generated image at full resolution is often larger than 2 MB, especially as PNG. Export as JPEG, or reduce the dimensions, before upload. A page that loads fast is the point of an Instant Page, so smaller files are also better for viewers.

How do I fit a Sume clip under 100 MB?

Shorten the clip with video trim ($0.02 per job; duration from 0.2 to 900 seconds) and conform the output to a smaller frame with output, for example 720x1280 at 30 fps. File size follows length and resolution, so shorter and smaller helps. Sume returns the file; check its size on disk against 100 MB before upload.

For images, POST /v1/images accepts output_format of png, jpeg or webp; use jpeg for photos. TikTok lists JPG, JPEG and PNG, so avoid webp here.

  • Check the file size, not just the resolution.
  • Use JPEG for photographic images.
  • Keep videos short; Instant Pages load on phones.

What about the other components?

The page lists seven, but gives specs only for images, videos and carousels. For the others, open the component in Ads Manager and read the field limits it shows there.
