What are the Branded Mission specs?

TikTok's Branded Mission article (July 2025) lists a 9:16 video of at least 720x1280, up to 100 MB, in MP4, MPEG, 3GP, AVI or MOV, with 12 to 15 seconds strongly recommended and a bitrate above 2,500 kbps. Performers must be over 18. You upload 12 hours to 7 days before launch. Text limits: caption 150 characters (4 to 60 English characters optimal), advertiser name 24, Mission name 70 (18 recommended), description 300 (under 150 recommended). I read the page on 2026-10-03.

What about music and the cover?

Music is an MP3 of 15 seconds to 1 minute (15 seconds recommended) with a song name of up to 60 characters (12 recommended). The cover photo is 300x300 with key elements centred in a 260 px circle, up to 1 MB. The page also requires copyright documentation and a TikTok authorization letter, and allows 1 to 10 example videos.

How do I make the video and the track with Sume?

Trim the clip to 12 to 15 seconds with duration and precision: "exact", and conform to 720x1280 or 1080x1920 with output ($0.02 per job). Generate music with POST /v1/music-1.0/generate ($0.125 per generation). Sume returns audio/mpeg, which is MP3 audio, but there is no duration parameter, so check the length is at least 15 seconds and trim it elsewhere if needed. The 2,500 kbps bitrate floor is not something Sume's docs set; check the file in your inspection tool.

Because the page requires copyright documentation, keep records of what you generated and when.

  • 12 to 15 seconds for the video.
  • MP3 of 15 seconds for the music.
  • Upload 12 hours to 7 days ahead.

What is the risk?

A missed bitrate or length is a rejected upload, and the window is narrow. Prepare files a few days ahead of the earliest allowed upload time so there is time to redo one.
