TikTok ad minimum 540x960 vs 480p AI video: which resolution to pick
TikTok's ad spec asks for 9:16 video of at least 540x960. A 480p AI clip falls short on its short side. Generate at 720p or higher on Sume.

The short answer
TikTok's ad specifications ask for vertical video at 9:16 with a minimum of 540x960. A 480p AI clip is generally 480 pixels on the short side, so it falls under that minimum. For a TikTok ad on Sume, generate at 720p or higher, and keep 480p and 360p for drafts. Check the real size of your file with video inspect.
What the spec says
The TikTok page lists vertical 9:16 at a minimum of 540x960, horizontal 16:9 at 960x540 and square 1:1 at 640x640. It allows up to 10 minutes and 500 MB, in mp4, mov, mpeg, 3gp or avi, at a bitrate of at least 516 kbps. Read the TikTok video ads specifications before you publish, because they may change.
Pick the resolution, then the price
Draft rows are cheap, but they are sized for review, not for an ad account. The table compares each model's draft price for 5 seconds with the price at 720p.
| Model | Draft setting | Ad-ready setting | 5 s ad-ready price |
|---|---|---|---|
| wan-3.0 | 480p, $0.3125 | 720p | $0.625 |
| gemini-omni-flash-1.1 | 360p, $0.1875 | 720p | $0.625 |
| grok-imagine-video-1.5 | 480p, $0.0625 | 720p | $0.0625 |
| kling-3 | 720p or 1080p | 720p | $0.70 silent |
Notes on the table
Grok charges the same at 480p and 720p, so there is no reason to draft below 720p there. Kling 3 charges the same at 720p and 1080p. For the others, the jump from 480p or 360p to 720p doubles or more the cost of a clip.
Request
Set aspect_ratio to 9:16 and resolution to 720p. Omni takes 16:9 and 9:16 only, which suits this case.

Run video inspect on the finished clip. It returns probe facts, so you can confirm width, height and duration against the spec before upload. A finished Timeline render defaults to 1080x1920, which clears the minimum.
