TikTok's page lists transitions, stickers and graphics as creative tips. See which Sume's Timeline and compose endpoints produce, and which they do not.

TikTok's performance-ad page lists transitions, stickers and graphics among its creative tips. Sume's Timeline covers transitions (fade, wipeleft, wiperight, slideup, slidedown, dissolve) and its compose overlay can place a PNG graphic. It does not offer TikTok's in-app sticker library, so animated stickers remain a TikTok-side choice.

What TikTok's page says

In "Creative best practices for performance ads" (read 2026-10-05), the tips include captions or text overlays, and transitions, stickers and graphics. The page gives no sticker specification, so this post does not describe one.

Transitions in Timeline

Timeline 1.0 allows a transition on any slot after the first. The type is one of the six above, the duration is at most 1 second and at most half the shorter neighbouring slot, and eight chained fades is the cap (too_many_chained_transitions).

A short fade or wipe between two shots reads as intentional. A long chain reads as a slideshow.

Graphics with compose

Timeline compose takes an overlay operation with a position, a width_ratio from 0.05 to 1 (default 0.9) and a margin_ratio from 0 to 0.45 (default 0.05). Use it for a logo, a badge or a price tag PNG. It is a flat $0.02 per job in the docs, for source video up to 300 seconds, with 1080 by 1920 as the default output.

Keep it light

Every effect competes with the hook. Use one transition type per spot, place graphics away from the caption line, and check a still before upload.

  • Overlay the graphic before burning captions, then confirm they do not collide.
  • Use the plan route to validate a transition chain for free.
