Ten 5-second video drafts: Runway $2.50, Veo Lite $2.50, Sume $1.875
Runway gen4_turbo at $0.05/s and Veo 3.1 Lite 720p at $0.05/s both cost $2.50 for ten 5-second drafts. Sume's Omni Flash 360p is $1.875; Wan 480p is $3.125.

Ten 5-second drafts cost $2.50 on Runway's gen4_turbo (5 credits, $0.05 per second) and $2.50 on Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p ($0.05), and $1.875 with Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 at 360p on Sume ($0.0375 per second). Sume's cheapest 480p text-to-video rows, Wan 3.0 and MiniMax H3, are $3.125 for the same ten drafts.
The drafts table
A draft here means a short, low-resolution test clip you use to pick a prompt before paying for a final render. Each price is per output second from that vendor's page or Sume's catalog, read 2026-10-09.
| Route | $ per second | One 5 s draft | Ten drafts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sume gemini-omni-flash-1.1, 360p | $0.0375 | $0.1875 | $1.875 |
| Runway gen4_turbo | $0.05 | $0.25 | $2.50 |
| Google Veo 3.1 Lite, 720p | $0.05 | $0.25 | $2.50 |
| Sume wan-3.0, 480p | $0.0625 | $0.3125 | $3.125 |
| Sume minimax-h3, 480p | $0.0625 | $0.3125 | $3.125 |
What is and is not like for like
The resolutions differ: 360p, 480p and 720p are not the same picture, and Runway's row names none. Omni Flash 360p drafts include native audio always, per Sume's docs, and Veo 3.1 Lite's page row is video with audio. So the cheapest Sume row is a real draft price only if 360p is enough to judge your prompt.
A cheaper way to use drafts is to choose the draft model for its resemblance to the final model. Drafts on Wan 3.0 at 480p ($0.3125) make sense if your final render is Wan 3.0 at 1080p ($1.25 for 5 seconds); whether a prompt carries across resolutions is something to test, not assume.
The final-render step
A 5-second final on Omni Flash 1.1 at 1080p is 5 x $0.1875 = $0.9375, and at 4K 5 x $0.375 = $1.875. Ten drafts plus one 4K final on Omni Flash totals $1.875 + $1.875 = $3.75. See also Veo 3.1 Lite at 5 cents vs the cheapest Sume draft.
Scaling the draft habit
If you draft 40 clips a week, the weekly cost is $10.00 on gen4_turbo or Veo 3.1 Lite, $7.50 on Omni Flash 360p and $12.50 on Wan 480p (40 x 5 x the per-second rate). Over a month the spread between the cheapest and dearest of those is about $20. Draft cost is rarely the main spend, so pick the draft route that most resembles your final model and treat price as a tiebreaker.
Every Sume price above is linear in duration, so a 3-second draft on Omni Flash is $0.1125.
What I could not confirm
Google's page lists Veo 3.1 Lite with audio at 720p and 1080p and says 4K output is not supported. Runway's gen4_turbo row has no resolution. Prices are per second as listed. All vendor figures were read on 2026-10-09 and are listed in the sources; Sume figures come from its public catalog and docs the same day.
