A minute of talking video costs between $6.00 and $33.00 on Sume at list rates, depending on the route: $6.00 for Fabric at 480p, $11.25 for Fabric at 720p, and $11.04, $14.70 or $33.00 for Avatar Standard, Plus or Max without a product. The per-second figures come from Sume's pricing page, read 2026-10-03. The routes are not interchangeable, so cost is only one column in the decision.

What does 60 seconds cost on each route?

Fabric bills the audio second you supply. Avatar video bills per second of output, and the pricing page also lists a one-time $0.95 per avatar to create a reusable avatar, plus higher per-second rates with a product in frame.

60 seconds at list rates, read 2026-10-03
RouteListed rate60 seconds
Fabric 1.0, 480p$0.10 per audio second$6.00
Fabric 1.0, 720p$0.1875 per audio second$11.25
Avatar Standard, no product$0.184 per second$11.04
Avatar Plus, no product$0.245 per second$14.70
Avatar Max, no product$0.55 per second$33.00

Why is the cheapest not always the right one?

  • Fabric animates a still photo to audio you provide, so you also pay for the voice (priced per character) and hold the audio under 10 MB and 300 seconds.
  • Avatar video is driven by a script and a reusable avatar handle, which suits repeatable presenters across many clips.
  • The Fabric price is per audio second even when the voice pauses, so trim silence first.

What does the table not say?

It says nothing about quality. Standard, Plus and Max are quality tiers with different looks, and 480p against 720p changes sharpness, not just price. Render one short test per route before you budget a series, and read the current rates in GET /v1/catalog, since the pricing page is a snapshot.
