Online course, 20 three-minute avatar lessons: cost by quality tier
Twenty 3-minute avatar lessons are 3,600 seconds. On Sume that is $662.40 Standard, $882.00 Plus or $1,980.00 Max, plus $0.95 once to create the avatar.
What does a 20-lesson avatar course cost?
Twenty lessons of 3 minutes each total 3,600 seconds of avatar video. At the no-product rates that is $662.40 on Standard, $882.00 on Plus and $1,980.00 on Max. Creating the avatar costs $0.95 once.
These figures assume no product placement. With a product, the per-second rates are $0.194, $0.258 and $0.58.
Why do lessons need splitting?
A script must estimate to between 4 and 60 seconds, so a 180-second lesson is three clips of up to 60 seconds. That makes 60 clips for 20 lessons. Plan your script breaks at natural pauses, since each clip is its own job.
| Tier | Rate per second | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $0.184 | $662.40 |
| Plus (default) | $0.245 | $882.00 |
| Max | $0.55 | $1,980.00 |
What does joining the clips cost?
Stitching three clips into a lesson is a Timeline render at $0.10 per output minute, rounded up. A 3-minute lesson costs $0.30, so 20 lessons cost $6.00. See the timeline docs for the request shape. Compose and the other tools have their own flat prices, and the flat price post explains how they behave.
How can I spend less?
Use Standard for drafts and review, then render finals on Plus or Max. Keep scripts tight, since you pay by the second. Rendering Standard first and the keepers at a higher tier is cheaper than rendering everything at Max, and Sume does not discount volume on the rate card.
What does Sume not do here?
Sume supports one avatar per video at 720p, and it does not author lesson scripts as part of the avatar price. The wallet needs to cover jobs in flight, and your plan sets how many run at once: 4 on Pro, 8 on Startup and 20 on Scale. For the tier differences, read the quality-tier post.
What is a sensible rollout?
Render lesson one on Standard to check script pacing, which is 180 seconds at $0.184, so $33.12. Review it, then render the full course. If you finalize on Plus, lesson one costs $44.10 and the course $882.00.
A mixed approach, with Standard for 15 draft lessons and Plus for 5 hero lessons, costs 2,700 s x $0.184 plus 900 s x $0.245, which is $496.80 + $220.50, or $717.30. Re-rendering a lesson bills again, so lock the script before the final render.
Add the $0.95 avatar creation and $6.00 of Timeline joins to any of these totals.
