Pinterest Business Assistant is a closed US beta: what to do now
Pinterest's Business Assistant is an Ads Manager AI in closed US beta. Without access, here is how to turn a trend into Pin creative with Sume.

Pinterest describes Business Assistant as an AI collaborator in Ads Manager and says it is in closed beta in the US (read 2026-10-02). If you are outside that beta, you cannot use it yet; you can still make Pin creative on Sume and decide the trend angle yourself.
What Pinterest announced
The June 17, 2026 newsroom post lists Business Assistant alongside a Performance+ creative update, a Pinterest MCP for partner integrations and an experimental shopping app (read 2026-10-02). It says Performance+ moves optimization from the ad to the asset, and reports a 7.5% increase in click volume in testing against the previous model.
| Item | What Pinterest says |
|---|---|
| Business Assistant | AI collaborator in Ads Manager; closed beta, US only |
| Performance+ creative | Evaluates a broader set of creative per impression |
| Test result | 7.5% increase in click volume vs the previous model |
| Pinterest MCP | Model Context Protocol for partner integrations |
A manual trend-to-Pin routine on Sume
You do not need the assistant to make several Pin candidates. Pick a trend from Pinterest's own Trends tools, then produce variants.
- Write one prompt per angle and generate each as a vertical image through the Image API.
- Keep the product as a reference image so each variant shows the same item.
- Use 2:3 for standard Pins; the Pin spec post lists the sizes.
- Upload the set as separate creatives so Performance+ has assets to compare.
If you work through an agent
Hosted MCP lets an agent call Sume tools. Paid and write tools need an idempotency_key, and the docs say that key is for deduplication, not human approval (MCP tools and gates). The post on pairing Pinterest MCP with Sume MCP walks through a video Pin. Sume does not read Pinterest trend data itself.
