Shopify gift card product video: one clip, denominations to $10,000
Shopify gift card denominations run above zero up to $10,000. A 6-second Sume loop and two images cost about $0.85.

A Shopify gift card product is a normal product page with fixed denominations, so it deserves a hero image and a short loop like any other listing. Shopify's help page says denominations can be any amount above zero up to $10,000 USD, cannot be left empty, and customers cannot type their own amount on the storefront. A 6-second Sume clip plus one image costs under a dollar.
Shopify facts are from Add or update gift card products and the gift cards overview, read 2026-10-03: you add one under Products > Gift cards, with a title, description, currency and at least one denomination (media such as an image is optional); after fulfilment the card is created with the purchased value and appears in the admin's Gift cards section. The overview page says digital gift cards are sold as products and physical cards can be ordered from the Shopify Hardware Store in supported countries.
What the page needs
Because buyers pick from a short list, the media should make the choice easy: one image that shows the card as a present, one short loop that shows it being given. Do not put the amounts into the picture unless you are sure the denominations will not change, since Shopify's list is edited in the admin and a stale amount in an image misleads.
| Asset | Surface | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Hero image of a wrapped gift and the card | POST /v1/images, seedream-4.5 | $0.05 |
| Alternate crop, 3:4 for ads | POST /v1/images | $0.05 |
| 6-second loop | POST /v1/videos, wan-3.0, 720p | 6 x $0.125 = $0.75 |
| Total | $0.85 |
A cheaper loop
The table above is the whole generation bill. A 4-second loop instead of 6 would be $0.50 at the same rate (wan-3.0 accepts 2 to 30 seconds). Add a caption job at $0.20 only if the loop carries text such as 'Send it by email'.
Seasonal use
Gift cards sell late: the last-minute buyer in the week before 25 December wants a digital card that arrives instantly. Make the video say that in one line. Since the card is a digital product that is created when the order is fulfilled, the claim you can honestly make is that the card appears in the shop's admin after fulfilment; delivery timing to the recipient depends on your store settings, which the pages I read did not specify.
What Sume does and does not do
- Does: produce the images, the loop and the caption burn.
- Does not: create the gift card product, set denominations or touch your store. Use the Shopify admin for that.
- Does not: advise on gift card law or expiry rules in your region.
