Fifty 4-second hook variants cost $17.577 on Seedance 2 Mini at 480p and $115.56 on Seedance 2.5 at 720p on Sume. Four seconds is the shortest length every Seedance id accepts, so it is the cheapest length a hook test can use.

Fifty hooks, each tier

Submit script

Idempotency keys make a retried submit safe, so a network error does not double-charge a hook.

import os, requests

hooks = ["Stop scrolling: this saves 2 hours", "I tried it for 7 days", "Nobody tells you this"]
for i, h in enumerate(hooks):
    r = requests.post(
        "https://api.sume.com/v1/videos",
        headers={"Authorization": "Bearer " + os.environ["SUME_API_KEY"],
                 "Idempotency-Key": f"hook-{i:03d}"},
        json={"model": "seedance-2-mini", "prompt": h,
              "duration": 4, "resolution": "480p", "aspect_ratio": "9:16"},
    )
    print(i, r.status_code)

Keep the winners

If five hooks win, re-render them on seedance-2.5 at 1080p for $28.431 total. That makes the whole experiment $46.008.

Mind the queue

Fifty jobs may not all fit at once. Per the admission docs, the default accepted capacity is 6 jobs on Free, 24 on Pro, 48 on Startup and 120 on Scale; past that a submit returns 429 queue_full. Submit in waves, keep each job id, and retry a rejected submit with the same Idempotency-Key once a job finishes.
