What the extra money buys by contract

The documented difference is range: Seedance 2.5 accepts 4 to 30 seconds, Seedance 2 accepts 4 to 15. Both price 480p, 720p and 1080p in Sume's estimator. Sume makes no quality statement beyond that range difference.

Past 15 seconds

Seedance 2 stops at 15 seconds per job. A 30-second 720p clip on Seedance 2.5 is $17.334 in one job. Two 15-second Seedance 2 jobs at 720p are $11.34, but they are two separate clips, not one continuous take, so the lower number buys a different thing.

When the gap is worth it

  • Clip longer than 15 s: the question is moot, only 2.5 does it in one job.
  • Clip of 15 s or less: render the same prompt on both once and judge your own frames.
  • High volume at 1080p: the 1080p gap is the largest, so test there first.
