Seedance 2.5 vs MiniMax H3: length, resolution, audio, price
On Sume, Seedance 2.5 makes 4–30 s clips at up to 1080p with optional audio; MiniMax H3 makes 5–15 s at native 480p or 768p, always with audio.

Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3 differ most in clip length and in how resolution sets the price. Through Sume's video API, Seedance 2.5 makes 4–30 second clips at 480p, 720p or 1080p and bills per 1,000 video tokens, so pixels and seconds both count. MiniMax H3 makes 5–15 second clips at native 480p or 768p and bills a flat rate per second for each resolution; its sibling MiniMax H3 Max adds 1080p. Seedance's audio is optional, while MiniMax always adds stereo sound.
The limits are those of seedance-2.5, minimax-h3 and minimax-h3-max on POST /v1/videos, from Video generation, Video Router, and the catalog and pricing code, read on 2026-09-28. Output quality is yours to judge on your own prompts; nothing here ranks it.
How do Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3 differ?
All three take a prompt, a first and last frame, and image, video and audio references, so the table keeps the rows that separate them. Seedance 2.5 API and MiniMax H3 video API carry the full limits.
| Item | `seedance-2.5` | `minimax-h3` | `minimax-h3-max` |
|---|---|---|---|
| Longest clip | 30 s | 15 s | 15 s |
| Shortest clip | 4 s | 5 s | 5 s |
| Output sizes | 480p, 720p, 1080p | 480p, 768p | 480p, 768p, 1080p |
| Price basis | $0.02675 per 1,000 video tokens ($0.02925 at 1080p) | $0.0625/s at 480p, $0.075/s at 768p | $0.0625/s at 480p, $0.10/s at 768p, $0.20/s at 1080p |
How long can each clip run?
Seedance 2.5 accepts any whole number of seconds from 4 to 30, so a 20- or 30-second shot is one request. MiniMax H3 and H3 Max stop at 15 seconds; a 30-second piece from MiniMax is two clips joined afterwards. AI video length limits by model lists every model's range.
Why does MiniMax H3 use 768p instead of 720p?
768p is the model's native size, so send 768p; 720p is not in its list, and current code refuses a resolution a model does not list. Seedance has the opposite gap: it lists 720p but not 768p. At the top end, Seedance 2.5 renders 1080p itself, while MiniMax needs the H3 Max id for 1080p.
How much does a 10-second clip cost on each?
Seedance counts video tokens, width × height × seconds × 24 fps ÷ 1,024, so its price follows resolution and aspect ratio. MiniMax charges a flat rate per second for each resolution. The amounts below are reserved on submit, plus a 5.5% agent fee by default.
| Resolution | `seedance-2.5` | `minimax-h3` | `minimax-h3-max` |
|---|---|---|---|
| 480p | $2.69 | $0.63 | $0.63 |
| 720p | $5.78 | Not offered | Not offered |
| 768p | Not offered | $0.75 | $1.00 |
| 1080p | $14.22 | Not offered | $2.00 |
Which should I pick?
- Pick Seedance 2.5 for clips longer than 15 seconds, a 4-second clip, 720p output, or a silent clip; MiniMax cannot switch its audio off, as Kling vs MiniMax explains.
- Pick MiniMax H3 or H3 Max when you want sound on every clip and a flat per-second rate for each resolution.
- Pick H3 Max over H3 when you need 1080p from MiniMax.
- Seedance 2.0 (
seedance-2) has the same inputs as 2.5 with a 15-second cap, if you are comparing it with H3 instead.
