What ByteDance says it ships

ByteDance Seed's own announcement says Seedance 2.5 makes up to 30 seconds per generation with multi-round extensions, takes up to 30 images, 10 video clips and 10 audio clips as references, and supports timestamp-level editing (read 2026-10-02). The same page says it is rolling out on Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro, with API access coming via BytePlus ModelArk.

The June press report headline said 50 inputs, and the Seed page's 30, 10 and 10 add up to 50.

What the launch date means for you

The model is not new any more: it has been generally available for two months. A guide written in June about an enterprise beta describes a model that has since shipped, and some details such as price and region have changed.

On Sume, the video docs say seedance-2.5 accepts 4 to 30 seconds at 480p, 720p and 1080p. That is narrower than the press claim of native 4K, and the 4K figure is not something Sume accepts for this model.

  • Read the date on any Seedance 2.5 article before you rely on it.
  • Prefer the vendor page and the live catalog to a launch-week summary.
  • Retest limits before a campaign, since catalogs change.

Where to go from here

For limits, use the Sume video docs. For the app, use Dreamina. For the vendor's own claims, use the Seed announcement.
