Dreamina vs Seedance: the app and the model it runs

Dreamina and Seedance are not rival tools. Seedance is ByteDance Seed's video generation model; Dreamina is an AI creative platform that runs Seedance models (it lists Dreamina Seedance 2.5, 2.0 and 2.0 Mini) alongside other image and video models. Use Dreamina to make clips by hand in a browser, and a Seedance API when your code has to make them.

What is Dreamina Seedance 2.0?

It is the name Dreamina gives the Seedance 2.0 model in its model menu. ByteDance Seed's own page calls the model Seedance 2.0 and describes it as generating video and audio together from text, image, audio and video inputs.

The "Dreamina" prefix is not limited to the app: BytePlus's product page, which sells Seedance by API, also says "Dreamina-seedance-2.5 API Now Fully Available to Clients". So the name alone does not tell you whether you are in the app or calling the API. The pages read do not document any difference between "Dreamina Seedance 2.0" and "Seedance 2.0" beyond the name.

How do Dreamina, BytePlus and Sume differ?

Should I use Dreamina or a Seedance API?

Pick by who presses the button:

• Dreamina if a person makes each clip, wants templates, image tools and talking avatars in one app, and wants to start on free daily credits.
• BytePlus ModelArk if your code calls Seedance only and you want to buy it from BytePlus, on its plans.
• Sume if your code calls Seedance next to other video models (Kling, Wan, MiniMax and others) with one key, one request shape and one balance.
• Not Sume if you need a video model Dreamina lists that Sume's catalog does not carry; check GET /v1/videos/models first.
• If you use Dreamina, keep your own copies: its FAQ says uploads and generated content are automatically removed after a defined period.

How do I call Seedance from code?

On Sume, send a bare catalog id to POST /v1/videos. The request is asynchronous: you get a job id back at once, poll GET /v1/videos/{jobId} until the status is completed, then download the file. Send resolution explicitly. seedance-2.5 accepts 4–30 seconds and 1080p; seedance-2 also offers 1080p; the other Seedance ids stop at 15 seconds.

What does Dreamina Seedance 2.0 cost?

In Dreamina, the home page read on 2026-09-28 offered free daily credits and a promotion ("90% OFF—Get started for just $1.50/month"), and says displayed pricing is for reference only until you sign in. On Sume, Seedance is billed per 1,000 video tokens: a 5-second 720p 16:9 seedance-2 clip reserves $1.89 before the agent fee.
