Seedance 2.5 at 720p: fal shows $13.87 for 30 s, Sume bills $17.33

A 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p is $17.33 on Sume against $13.87 on fal's page. The gap is the 1.25 margin; token math below shows every step.

A 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p, 16:9, bills $17.33 on Sume. fal's own model page, read today, says the same clip costs approximately $13.87 on fal, so the difference is $3.47, which is exactly the 25% Sume margin on $13.87. With the 5.5% platform fee from Sume's pricing policy the all-in figure is about $18.28.

Seedance 2.5 is billed by video tokens, not by the second, so the cleanest way to budget it is to compute tokens first. The repo's pricing code uses the formula (width x height x seconds x 24 fps) / 1024, the same one fal prints on the model page.

Token math for 720p 16:9

1280 x 720 = 921,600 pixels per frame. For 30 seconds that is 921,600 x 30 x 24 / 1024 = 648,000 tokens. The provider rate in the catalog is $0.0214 per 1,000 tokens, so 648 x $0.0214 = $13.8672 at provider list. Multiply by 1.25 and you get $17.334, shown as $17.33.

fal's page also prints a per-second figure of about $0.4730 at 720p. That number does not reproduce the page's own $13.87 total, which implies $0.4623 per second, and it does not match the token formula either (which gives $0.4622). We use the token formula and the total, and treat the per-second figure as a rounded display value.

480p and 1080p, and where the page and the repo disagree

For a 10-second 16:9 clip the repo's estimator gives these Sume prices: 480p $2.69, 720p $5.78, 1080p $14.22. The 1080p row is the one that surprises people: it uses a higher token rate and 2.25x the pixels of 720p, so it costs about 2.5x as much, not 1.5x.

fal's page lists roughly $0.2205 per second at 480p. The repo's 480p figure works out to $0.2149 per second at provider list (10 s = $2.1494). That is a 2.6% gap we cannot explain from the public page, so treat 480p numbers as a few percent soft until the catalog is re-read. The 720p total, which is what most buyers ship, reconciles.

If you are planning a 60-second finished video at 720p, do not buy one 60-second job: the model tops out at 30 seconds, so you need two jobs, or a timeline join. Two 30-second jobs cost 2 x $17.33 = $34.67 before the fee.

Check it yourself

Run this to reproduce the Sume column. It is plain arithmetic, so it runs anywhere.

W, H, FPS = 1280, 720, 24
RATE_PER_1000_TOKENS = 0.0214  # provider list, USD
MARGIN = 1.25
for seconds in (5, 10, 15, 30):
    tokens = W * H * seconds * FPS / 1024
    provider = tokens / 1000 * RATE_PER_1000_TOKENS
    print(seconds, round(tokens), round(provider, 4), round(provider * MARGIN, 4))

What Sume does not do

Sume does not discount Seedance 2.5 below list x 1.25, and it does not apply a different rate for 9:16: the token count depends on pixels, and 720p 9:16 comes to the same 921,600 pixels. 1080p uses a higher token rate ($0.0234 per 1,000), so do not scale 720p prices by pixel count alone. Rates were read on 2026-10-08 and fal lists them as subject to change.
