Does aspect ratio change Seedance 2.5 price? 1:1, 9:16, 21:9, 4:3
On Sume, 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 price the same for Seedance 2.5; 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9 add about two cents at 5 s. Auto is estimated as 16:9. Full table.

Aspect ratio barely changes the Seedance 2.5 price on Sume. 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 cost the same: $2.89 for 5 s at 720p. 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9 cost $2.91, because their frames hold slightly more pixels. If you send auto or adaptive, Sume estimates the reserve as 16:9.
Why the price tracks the frame size
Seedance is billed on video tokens, which scale with width x height. SEEDANCE_VIDEO_DIMENSIONS in pricing-tables.ts fixes the frame for each resolution and ratio. At 720p, 16:9 is 1280x720, 9:16 is 720x1280 and 1:1 is 960x960. All three are 921,600 pixels. 4:3 is 1112x834 (927,408 pixels) and 21:9 is 1470x630 (926,100).

Auto and adaptive
The model card lists auto and adaptive next to the six fixed ratios. The estimator maps auto to 16:9 when it sizes the reserve. If the provider picks a different shape from your first-frame image, the real frame may differ from the one used for the estimate, and the difference is the cent-level spread above. Check usage.cost on the finished job.
GET /v1/videos/models lists the fixed ratios (21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16) for Seedance. Send one of those if you want a predictable price.
Picking a ratio
Choose the ratio by where the clip will play, not by price. Use 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, 1:1 for feed tiles, 16:9 for web and YouTube, 21:9 for trailers. The cost spread is at most a few cents on a 5 s clip and under ten cents on a 30 s 720p clip.
Gemini Omni Flash accepts only 16:9 and 9:16, so squares and ultrawide need Seedance or another model. Our Veo 3.1 note lists the models Sume has today.
Which ratio to request
The API accepts the six fixed ratios for Seedance and rejects any value that the model does not list, with a 400 instead of a silent crop. If your delivery format is 4:5, there is no 4:5 value: choose 3:4 and crop in Timeline, or generate 9:16 and crop. The price difference between the options is a few cents, so crop quality should decide.
When you pass a first-frame image, keep its ratio equal to the request ratio. A mismatch makes the provider crop or pad, and your reserve estimate was for the requested frame size, not the image's.
