Seed Audio 1.0 per minute: Luma 66 credits vs Runway 15, in dollars
Luma lists Seed Audio 1.0 at 66 credits a minute and Runway at 15: $0.11 to $0.20 a minute on Luma and $0.12 to $0.36 on Runway, depending on plan.

Seed Audio 1.0 costs 66 credits a minute on Luma and 15 on Runway, but a Runway credit is worth more, so the dollar gap is smaller than the credit gap. On Luma it is $0.198 a minute on Plus, $0.149 on Pro and $0.110 on annual Ultra. On Runway it is $0.36 on monthly Standard, $0.233 on Pro and $0.15 on Max. The cheapest Runway tier, Max, is below Luma Plus, while Runway Standard is the most expensive option listed.
Credit counts across vendors are not comparable until each is converted with that vendor's plan price.
What does a minute cost on each plan?
Luma: Plus $30 ($25 annual) for 10,000 credits, Pro $90 ($75) for 40,000, Ultra $300 ($250) for 150,000. Runway: Standard $15 ($12) for 625, Pro $35 ($28) for 2,250, Max $95 ($76) for 9,500. Each cell multiplies the plan's price per credit by 66 (Luma) or 15 (Runway).
| Plan | Credits a minute | Monthly billing | Annual billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luma Plus | 66 | $0.198 | $0.165 |
| Luma Pro | 66 | $0.149 | $0.124 |
| Luma Ultra | 66 | $0.132 | $0.110 |
| Runway Standard | 15 | $0.360 | $0.288 |
| Runway Pro | 15 | $0.233 | $0.187 |
| Runway Max | 15 | $0.150 | $0.120 |
How does that compare with a per-character rate?
A minute of speech is not a fixed number of characters. As an assumption, 150 spoken words a minute at about 6 characters a word is roughly 900 characters, which at Sume's $0.0475 per 1,000 characters is about $0.043. That makes Sume's TTS a few times cheaper per minute than any row above on that assumption, but Seed Audio and Sume's TTS Router are different models and I have not compared voice quality or any other feature.
Sume's TTS Router docs and the OpenRouter comparison are in Seed Audio 1.0 on OpenRouter vs Sume's TTS Router.
Which plan should you read the price from?
Use the plan you actually hold. If you are on Runway Pro for video, a minute of Seed Audio is $0.233 of credits you probably have spare. If audio is the main job, count what you would pay for a plan to get it.
- Luma plans: $0.11 to $0.20 a minute.
- Runway Max or annual Pro: $0.12 to $0.19 a minute.
- Runway Standard monthly: $0.36 a minute, the most expensive row.
Where do I see credits converted for other Runway items?
Runway credit price by plan shows the per-credit prices behind the Runway rows, and Luma Plus, Pro and Ultra credit pools does the same for Luma.
