Veo 3.1 audio doubles Runway credits; Omni Flash on Sume does not
On Runway, Veo 3.1 is 20 credits a second silent and 40 with audio; Omni Flash is 10. Dollar costs next to Sume's Omni Flash 1.1 rates.

Runway's developer pricing page, where 1 credit is $0.01, lists Veo 3.1 at 20 credits per second without audio and 40 with audio. Veo 3.1 Fast is 10 credits without audio and 15 with, and Gemini Omni Flash is 10 credits per second (read 2026-10-05). So on Runway, audio on the standard Veo tier costs twice as much as silence.
Google's own Gemini API pricing page lists Veo 3.1 Standard at $0.40 per second at 720p and 1080p, and $0.60 at 4K, with Fast at $0.10, $0.12 and $0.30 and Lite at $0.05 at 720p and $0.08 at 1080p (read 2026-10-05).
Dollars per second
| Option | Rate per second | 10 seconds |
|---|---|---|
| Runway Veo 3.1, no audio | $0.20 | $2.00 |
| Runway Veo 3.1, audio | $0.40 | $4.00 |
| Runway Veo 3.1 Fast, no audio | $0.10 | $1.00 |
| Runway Veo 3.1 Fast, audio | $0.15 | $1.50 |
| Runway Gemini Omni Flash | $0.10 | $1.00 |
| Sume Omni Flash 1.1, 720p | $0.125 | $1.25 |
| Sume Omni Flash 1.1, 1080p | $0.1875 | $1.88 |
Where Sume sits
Sume's Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 rates are the fal list prices times 1.25: $0.0375 at 360p, $0.125 at 720p, $0.1875 at 1080p and $0.375 at 4K, per second, for 3 to 10 second clips with native audio. On the fal page the list rates are $0.03, $0.10, $0.15 and $0.30.
The takeaway is structural: a model with audio built into one rate removes the audio decision from the budget. A 10 second 1080p Omni Flash clip is $1.88 on Sume. A 10 second Veo 3.1 clip with audio is $4.00 on Runway. They are different models and this is a price comparison, not a quality ranking.
Confirm the live rate for any model with the catalog call described in the video generation docs.
- Ask whether audio is a separate price tier before you compare per-second rates.
- Compare at the resolution you will ship, not the cheapest published tier.
- Re-read vendor pages at the time of purchase; the figures above are from 2026-10-05.
