Retouch budget: 40 photos, three revision rounds on Ideogram 4.5
A client retouch job of 40 photos with three revision rounds costs $9 at medium, $14 with a high final, and $33 at high throughout on Sume Ideogram 4.5.

Forty photos with three rounds of edits is 120 Ideogram 4.5 images, and on Sume that costs $9.00 at medium quality, $4.50 at low, or $33.00 at high. A plan that drafts at low and finishes at high lands in between. Ideogram 4.5 is priced per image regardless of size, so the count is the whole calculation. Prices below are the provider list ($0.03, $0.06, $0.22) times the 1.25 Sume markup.
The plans
Each plan runs 40 photos through three rounds. A round is one edit per photo; a revision is a re-run when the client asks for a change.
| Plan | Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| All low | $1.50 | $1.50 | $1.50 | $4.50 |
| All medium | $3.00 | $3.00 | $3.00 | $9.00 |
| Low, low, high | $1.50 | $1.50 | $11.00 | $14.00 |
| Low, medium, medium | $1.50 | $3.00 | $3.00 | $7.50 |
| All high | $11.00 | $11.00 | $11.00 | $33.00 |
What the numbers leave out
Two figures help when you quote. The cost per delivered photo is the sum of its rounds: $0.225 for three medium rounds, $0.35 for low, low, high on the 0.0375 and 0.275 prices, and $0.825 for three high rounds. The cost per round across the batch is 40 times the unit price. Quote both and the client can see where a cheaper tier would save money.
These are first-attempt prices. Real jobs include retries: an edit that changes the wrong thing is billed like any success, though a failed generation is not billed under the Image API docs. Add a retry share to the plan. If one photo in five needs a second pass, add 20% to the totals above.
The tier changes the output quality, not the number of calls. Morphic lists four quality levels for Ideogram 4.5 at the vendor; the Sume docs name three, low, medium and high, and medium is the default, so a call without quality is billed at medium.
Choosing the tier per round
Early rounds answer the question "is this the right change?", and a low render answers it. Late rounds answer "is this good enough to deliver?", and a high render is easier to defend to a client who will zoom in. The plan low, low, high costs 42% of the all-high price ($14 of $33) and still gives the client a high-quality final.
A fixed price per image also makes the quote easy to explain. Tell the client the number of rounds included and the price of an extra round; at medium quality an extra round across all 40 photos is $3.00, and a single extra edit is $0.075. That is a small enough figure that most teams absorb one stray revision and charge for a full extra round.
If every photo is different, such as a restoration job where each scan has its own damage, keep a per-photo log with the tier used. The photos that needed a high render in round three are the ones to start higher on next time.
The unit prices are explained in Ideogram 4.5 edit price per image, and a single photo's chain is costed in the three-pass chain. The authoritative figure is always the pricing field on the model endpoint, which the Sume rate card follows.
