An Ideogram 4.5 image costs 4 cents at low quality, 8 cents at medium and 28 cents at high on Sume. An edit costs the same as a text-only generation, and the 1K or 2K resolution setting does not change it.

How the price is built

The Sume image models docs say Ideogram 4.5 is ideogram/ideogram-v4.5: without input_references it generates, with references it edits the first image and takes up to 4 more as references. Quality is low, medium or high, defaulting to medium.

The provider list in IDEOGRAM_V45_USD_MICROS_PER_IMAGE is $0.03, $0.06 and $0.22 per image. Sume multiplies by 1.25 and rounds up to the cent: 3.75 becomes 4, 7.5 becomes 8 and 27.5 becomes 28.

QualityProvider listBilled by SumeEdit with references
low$0.03$0.04$0.04
medium$0.06$0.08$0.08
high$0.22$0.28$0.28

What this means for edits

Multi-turn editing is where the bill grows: each turn is a new job, so five medium turns on one image are 40 cents. Run the early turns at low and only the last at high, which is $0.04 x 4 + $0.28 = $0.44 against $1.40 for five high turns.

An edit that omits aspect_ratio keeps the shape of the source, so you do not pay more to keep a crop. If you need several variants at once, one call for four images saves a cent or two.

  • Low 4 cents, medium 8, high 28.
  • No size or reference surcharge.
  • Default quality is medium.

Prices come from the code path above and the API pricing page; the list-price figures are also in the image models docs.

Budget examples

A catalog of 100 product images edited once at medium is 100 x 8 cents = $8.00. The same catalog at high is $28.00, and at low $4.00. Because size and references do not change the price, you can use 2K output and a logo reference without a surcharge, which makes quality the only decision that moves the bill.

If a first low pass shows the edit needs refinement, rerun only the weak ones at medium. For example, a first pass of 100 images at low is $4.00. Redoing the weakest 30 at high adds 30 x 28 cents = $8.40, so the whole job is $12.40.

How these numbers were produced

These figures come from Sume's own price estimators, run on 2026-10-06 through estimateImageRouterProviderCost for ideogram-v4.5, covering low, medium and high quality. The output fields are billableAmountUsdMicros and billableAmountUsdCents; the tables show the cents.

These are estimates of the billed amount for the stated settings. Anything not in the table, such as a different frame shape, a reference input or a changed quality tier, can change the number, so run the estimate for your own request before a large batch. Where this page and the public API pricing list disagree, the pricing page and the live quote win.
