Launch teaser: one Seedance 2.5 hero shot plus two Wan fillers
Spend on one 5-second Seedance 2.5 hero shot at 720p ($2.889) and fill the rest with cheap Wan 3.0 480p. Timeline chain and a $3.69 total, read 2026-10-10.

A 13-second launch teaser with one 5-second Seedance 2.5 hero shot at 720p ($2.889), two 4-second Wan 3.0 fillers at 480p ($0.50), one Timeline render ($0.10) and one caption job ($0.20) costs $3.689 on Sume. Seedance 2.5 accepts 4 to 30 seconds, so a 5-second hero is allowed.
The idea is to put money where the viewer looks. The hero shot is the single image people remember; fillers can be cheap because they are on screen briefly. Timeline stitches them and lets the music and the cue text do the rest. Prices come from the Sume pricing code and golden tests (read 2026-10-10).
What is the endpoint chain?
Three video jobs start together; Timeline starts when all three are done.
POST /v1/videoswithseedance-2.5,duration: 5,resolution: 720p: the hero shot with one clear subject and one move.POST /v1/videostwice withwan-3.0,duration: 4,resolution: 480p: an establishing shot and a detail shot.POST /v1/timeline-1.0/renderwithaudio.mode: "silence",duration_seconds: 13, three slots at 0, 4 and 9 seconds and asoundtrackfrom the free BGM catalog.POST /v1/video-captionswithcues: the product name and the date as timed text.
What does it cost?
Seedance 2.5 is the expensive line, so the table shows how the total moves if the hero changes.
| Hero shot | Hero cost | Fillers + render + captions | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5, 5 s, 720p | $2.889 | $0.800 | $3.689 |
| Wan 3.0, 5 s, 720p | $0.625 | $0.800 | $1.425 |
| Omni Flash 1.1, 5 s, 720p | $0.625 | $0.800 | $1.425 |
What are the limits?
Timeline needs every slot URL to be on media.sume.com, which the three generated videos already are. Slot one starts at 0 and later starts must increase. Resolution mixing is allowed, but a 480p filler next to a 720p hero looks soft; put fillers in the middle, not at the opening.
Do not spend on Seedance for a plain background. A $2.889 shot should carry the product's one memorable move. If you are unsure, draft the hero in Wan at 480p for $0.3125 first, then pay for Seedance. The proof-first loop is in the 480p proof-then-final post.
The first Timeline call can be a free /plan, so test the three starts before the render. See Timeline 1.0 and Video Generation for the model ranges.
Pre-publish checklist
Watch for a mismatch between the hero and the fillers: lighting and colour grade should agree. Add a short fade transition (at most one second) on slots after the first if the cut feels abrupt.
If you need the teaser in a second shape, see the crop pattern in the first-frame post.
- Use one prompt style across the three jobs.
- Keep the product name in the caption cue, not the prompt.
- Use a separate
Idempotency-Keyper job.
