Pinterest video ratio floor 1:2: which Sume output sizes pass

Pinterest asks you to avoid video ratios beyond 1:2 and 1.91:1. 1080x1920, 1080x1350 and 1080x2160 all land inside; here is the arithmetic.

Yes: Sume's default 1080x1920 output is 9:16, one of the vertical formats Pinterest suggests, and it sits inside the range Pinterest says to stay within. Pinterest's specs page says to avoid ratios shorter than 1:2 or taller than 1.91:1, and suggests square (1:1), vertical (2:3, 4:5) or 9:16. Timeline 1.0 takes output.width and output.height as even integers from 256 to 2160, so the tallest 1080-wide frame is 1080x2160, exactly 1:2.

Reading the guidance

The page words the limit as ratios to avoid. It does not say that a video outside the range is rejected, so treat the numbers as a design limit rather than a validated error. Because 2160 is Sume's maximum edge, a 1080-wide Timeline cannot go beyond 1:2 anyway; a narrower frame at full height, such as 900x2160 (about 1:2.4), would pass Sume but exceed the 1:2 guidance.

The same page gives other video facts you can plan around: MP4, MOV or M4V files, up to 2 GB, between 4 seconds and 15 minutes, with H.264 or H.265 encoding. Sume's trim exact mode re-encodes with libx264 and yuv420p, but the docs do not publish file size for a render, so check the size of the file after the job.

Setting the size

Omit output for 1080x1920, or send the pair you want. Because the compiler fits each source into the frame (fit defaults to cover, with contain, stretch and blur as alternatives), a landscape clip in a 4:5 frame is cropped by default; use blur or contain if you need the whole picture.
