Pinterest carousel ad specs: 1:1 or 2:3, 2 to 5 images, 20 MB
Pinterest carousel ads take 1:1 or 2:3 images, 2 to 5 cards, 20 MB each. Render a matching set in one Sume Image API call with n and one aspect_ratio.

Pinterest's ad specs page lists carousel ads at 1:1 or 2:3, 20 MB per image, and 2 to 5 images (the page gives 2 to 10 for Sales-objective carousels with video). Sume's Image API takes one aspect_ratio per request, which fits: one call makes cards that share a ratio, so none of them needs a crop.
The page's wording of the ratio rule is what to plan around. Pick 1:1 or 2:3 for the whole set rather than mixing them.
Limits and the Sume knob that meets each
| Pinterest spec | Value | Sume parameter |
|---|---|---|
| Aspect ratio | 1:1 or 2:3 | aspect_ratio (check the model's list) |
| File size | 20 MB per image | output_format, quality |
| Cards (standard) | 2 to 5 | n, per-model ceiling in the catalog |
| Title / description | Up to 100 / 800 characters | Copy, not an image field |
One call, one ratio
The request below asks for four cards at 2:3. Ideogram 4.5 lists 2:3; confirm your model with GET /v1/images/models. A slow job returns 202, and the script stops there so you can read the finished job through the jobs result endpoint.
import os, requests
API = "https://api.sume.com"
H = {"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['SUME_API_KEY']}"}
body = {"model": "ideogram/ideogram-v4.5", "aspect_ratio": "2:3", "n": 4, "quality": "low",
"prompt": "Four product cards in one consistent style, plain background, subject centered"}
r = requests.post(f"{API}/v1/images", headers=H, json=body, timeout=60)
r.raise_for_status()
if r.status_code == 202:
raise SystemExit("job still running: read result_url from the 202 body")
for i, img in enumerate(r.json()["data"]):
print(i, img["url"])Keep the set consistent
- Reuse the same style words in the prompt so the cards read as a series.
- Check each file against the 20 MB figure before upload;
output_formatacceptspng,jpegorwebp, so switch format if a card is over the limit. - Write one 100-character title per card; Pinterest's page says only the first 40 characters may display.
