Picture-in-picture Reel on Sume: what Timeline compose can do

Compose puts one still over one video for $0.02, up to 300 s. Position top, center or bottom; width_ratio 0.05 to 1. It is not a video-in-video PiP.

If you searched for a picture-in-picture Reel on Sume, the answer is narrower than the name. Timeline compose takes one still image and one video and combines them with an operation: stack or overlay. It does not place a second video inside the first.

The overlay controls

Overlay places the still at top, center or bottom of the frame. width_ratio runs 0.05 to 1 and defaults to 0.9. margin_ratio runs 0 to 0.45 and defaults to 0.05. The price is a flat $0.02 per compose and the video can be up to 300 seconds, so a 3-minute (180 s) Reel fits.

A PiP-sized inset, and its limit

At width_ratio 0.35 on a 1080-wide Reel the still is 378 px wide, a PiP-sized inset. Use it for a logo, a product shot or a sticker-like card. For a moving inset you need a different route, and Sume does not ship one as a single call today. Trend coverage reports PiP as in test on Instagram's side, so a native PiP window may also sit on top of your inset: keep the compose still away from the corners and check it with the corner crops.
