Nano Banana Pro on Sume: 1K and 2K both $0.1875, 4K is $0.375
Nano Banana Pro bills $0.1875 at 1K and 2K and $0.375 at 4K on Sume, matching fal's 'double at 4K' note. Choose 2K by default and watch the 0.5K row.

Nano Banana Pro bills $0.1875 per image at 1K and at 2K on Sume, and $0.375 at 4K. Those are the provider list rates of $0.15 and $0.30 times Sume's 1.25 margin. So 2K costs nothing extra over 1K; 4K is exactly double.
The tiers
| Tier | List per image | Billed per image | 100 images billed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1K | $0.15 | $0.1875 | $18.75 |
| 2K | $0.15 | $0.1875 | $18.75 |
| 4K | $0.30 | $0.375 | $37.50 |
The vendor check
fal's Nano Banana Pro page lists $0.15 per image for standard resolutions (1K and 2K) and says 4K is charged at double the standard rate (fal, read 2026-10-07). That matches the numbers Sume starts from. Sume's catalog note says the same: the list is the default tier, and admission scales for 4K.
The 0.5K row
Sume's catalog lists 0.5K, 1K, 2K and 4K as resolution values for Nano Banana Pro, but the repo's rate lookup only treats 4K as special. Any other tier falls through to the default $0.15 list rate. Google's own docs say the 512px (0.5K) size is for Nano Banana 2.1 and 3.1 Flash (Google AI, read 2026-10-07), so do not assume 0.5K on Pro is a cheaper way to draft. For cheap drafts use Nano Banana 2.1, which has a lower rate at 0.5K.
Practical rules
- Default to
2Kon Pro. It costs the same as1Kand gives you room to crop. - Use
4Kwhen you will print or crop hard, and say so in the budget: a 4K image is two 1K images. - Ask for
aspect_ratio: "4:5"for Instagram portrait. The native size is about 928x1152 at 1K, and an exact 1080x1350 needs a resize. - Read
usage.coston each response and compare it with this table.
Printing and cropping
The reason to pay for 4K is pixels to crop or print. A 4K frame holds four times the pixels of a 2K one, so a tight crop of a 4K image at the same display size is as sharp as a full 2K image. If you plan to crop to a detail, 4K at $0.375 can be cheaper than regenerating at 2K twice at $0.1875 each. If you plan to post the full frame to a feed, it is not.
Pick the tier by what you do with the file. If a platform needs an exact pixel size, plan the resize into your pipeline rather than hoping the ratio is enough.
Budget example
Twenty hero images at 2K cost 20 x $0.1875 = $3.75. The same twenty at 4K cost $7.50. Four takes of one prompt at 4K (n: 4) cost $1.50. If you only need a web image, 4K is a waste. See the Image API page for how resolution and aspect_ratio are passed.
