A 10 second Luma Ray 3.2 text-to-video clip costs $0.45 at 540p, $0.90 at 720p and $3.60 at 1080p on Luma's API pricing page. Ray is not a model id on Sume today, so the comparison is against the Sume video ids at similar resolutions: H3 Max is $1.00 at 768p and $2.00 at 1080p, and Wan 3.0 is $1.25 at 720p and $2.50 at 1080p.

Luma's 1080p price is not simply 1.5 times 720p: a 5 second clip is $0.30 at 720p and $1.20 at 1080p, a factor of four, so 1080p is where Luma gets expensive.

Side by side

Sume figures are provider list times 1.25, from Sume's estimators; see the Video Router docs.

High (1080p)$3.60$2.50$2.00

Reading the gap

At the low and mid tiers Luma is cheaper per clip: $0.90 against $1.00 for H3 Max at the middle tier is a difference of $0.10, and $0.45 against $0.625 at the bottom. At 1080p Sume is cheaper by $1.10 to $1.60 per 10 second clip.

For 20 clips at 1080p that is $72.00 on Luma against $40.00 on H3 Max or $50.00 on Wan 3.0. Resolution labels differ (540p versus 480p, 720p versus 768p), so match the delivery size you need before reading it as a like-for-like quality comparison.
