Hedra's best-models page, read 2026-10-02, lists Kling 3.0/O3 Pro at $15.12 per minute at 720p and $20.16 per minute at 1080p Pro, a step of $5.04 per minute or about 33 percent. For one 15-second ad that is $1.26 more. The step is worth paying only if the delivery needs 1080p.

The arithmetic is from Hedra's two numbers. This post gives no Sume price for Kling.

What does the step cost at ad scale?

Multiply by seconds, then by the number of ads. The table shows a single 15-second clip and a 20-ad batch at both tiers.

Kling 3.0/O3 Pro prices from Hedra, read 2026-10-02; totals computed here.
TierPer minuteOne 15 s clip20 clips (5 min)
720p$15.12$3.78$75.60
1080p Pro$20.16$5.04$100.80
Step$5.04$1.26$25.20

When is 720p enough?

Drafts, internal reviews, and tests of hooks all work at the lower tier. Pick the winner there and spend on 1080p only for finals. Sume's own Auto defaults to 720p, per its Video Router docs.

When is the higher tier worth it?

When the clip will be viewed large or cropped, or when a client spec asks for it. If neither applies, the step is cost without a gain you can show.

How do I test it?

Render the same prompt at both tiers and compare stills side by side. A draft-then-final loop describes the workflow on Sume, and the 20-ad cost post uses the same arithmetic.

One approach is to give each ad a tier by role: tests and hook comparisons at 720p, the two or three winners at 1080p. In a 20-ad batch where three ads advance, you pay the 1080p price on 15 seconds times three clips, about 45 seconds, instead of 300. Keep the prompts identical between tiers so the upgrade is a fair comparison.

The step is also a useful sanity check on any price table you read. If a higher tier costs far more than a third above the lower one, ask what else changed, such as length limits or audio, before you assume the pixels are the whole difference.
