Luma's API pricing page (read 2026-10-02) lists Ray 3.2 text-to-video and image-to-video at $0.15, $0.30 and $1.20 for a 5-second clip at 540p, 720p and 1080p. That is 3 cents, 6 cents and 24 cents per second. A 10-second clip is listed at $0.45, $0.90 and $3.60.

Vendor prices and per-second math

The first two price columns are copied from the page. The per-second columns are those prices divided by clip length.

Luma Ray 3.2 text/image to video, vendor prices read 2026-10-02
Resolution5 s clipPer second (5 s)10 s clipPer second (10 s)
540p$0.15$0.030$0.45$0.045
720p$0.30$0.060$0.90$0.090
1080p$1.20$0.240$3.60$0.360

Two things to notice

First, the listed price of a 10-second clip is three times the 5-second price, not two times, so the per-second rate rises with length on this page. Do not assume a linear price when you plan longer clips.

Second, 1080p is four times the 720p price on both lengths. If your destination is a vertical social feed, generating at 720p is the cheaper draft, and moving to 1080p only for the final saves most of the spend.

Video-to-video and the Build tier

The same page lists video-to-video at $0.72, $1.44 and $2.16 for 5 seconds at 540p, 720p and 1080p, and reframe at $0.06, $0.12 and $0.36 per second. The page describes a Build tier as pay per use with no commitment, and a Scale tier with dedicated capacity and a minimum number of units.

Sume does not list a Luma Ray model in its video catalog docs read for this page. Check GET /v1/videos/models (see the video docs) for the models and per-model durations that are available, and the API pricing page for what they cost.

How to compare across vendors

Vendors reprice often, so recheck the live page before building a budget.

  • Normalize every price to dollars per output second at the same resolution.
  • Compare the same length; a 5-second price is not a 10-second price.
  • Add audio, upscaling or HDR charges where the vendor lists them separately.
