JoggAI photo avatar 0.2 credits vs Sume avatar creation at $0.95
JoggAI's docs charge 0.05 credit per photo-avatar image and 3 for motion. Sume charges a flat $0.95 per avatar. Why the two are not directly comparable.
JoggAI's API docs say one photo-avatar generation returns 4 images at 0.05 credit each, so 0.2 credits per generation, and that its Motion 2.0 Pro enhancement costs 3 credits per avatar. Sume's Avatar 1.0 charges one flat price of $0.95 to create an avatar, from a prompt, a profile or a reference image, and then charges per second of video made with it.
The two are not directly comparable, and this post does not try to convert them. Credits on JoggAI's pricing page are quoted on a different scale from the 0.05-credit unit in its API docs, both read 2026-10-03.
What does each side charge for making an avatar?
JoggAI's docs text prices the photo-avatar step in fractions of a credit and the motion step in whole credits. Its pricing page lists Starter at $24 a month with 144,000 credits and Creator 1 at $40.66 a month with 264,000 credits, under a column headed annual credits. A 0.2-credit generation set against a 144,000-credit plan does not reconcile into a dollar price from these two pages alone, and the pages do not explain the scale.
Sume's side is one number. Create new avatar documents three inputs, Prompt, Profile and Image, and the API pricing page carries the single per-avatar charge of $0.95. Each request is a job: poll it, then use the returned avatar handle or resource id for video.
| Item | JoggAI | Sume |
|---|---|---|
| Unit | Credits (0.05 per image, 4 images per generation) | USD per avatar |
| Image step | 0.2 credits per generation | $0.95 flat, any of three inputs |
| Motion step | 3 credits per avatar (Motion 2.0 Pro) | Not a separate step |
| Reuse afterwards | Avatar management in the docs | avatar_handle on each video request |
What the Sume number covers
The $0.95 buys the avatar itself. It is a one-time creation charge, and the price of the videos you make with it is separate and per second, from the standard, plus and max tiers on the same pricing page. For a roster of ten avatars the creation spend is $9.50, before any video.
- Prompt: describe the avatar in text.
- Profile: send structured traits; in the API this is the
propsinput type with fields such as ethnicity, sex and age. - Image: send a public HTTPS reference image URL; in the API this is the
photoinput type.
How to compare them honestly
If you are choosing between the two for a project, do not compare 0.2 credits with $0.95. Price the whole job instead: how many avatars you will make, how many seconds of video each will speak, and what plan the credits come from. For Sume, that is the avatar count times $0.95 plus seconds times the tier rate. For JoggAI, take the credit-to-dollar rate from your own plan page after sign-in, because the pages read here do not state it.
Also check what your avatar must do. A handle stays reusable, and Sume accepts the leading @ in the handle but stores it without. The creation charge is paid once per avatar, so the per-video rate matters more over a series.
