Ideogram 4.5 costs the same at 1K and 2K: pick 2K by default
Ideogram 4.5 is priced by quality tier, not size: $0.03, $0.06 or $0.22 list. On Sume you choose resolution 1K or 2K, so the size is a free choice.

Ideogram 4.5 is priced by quality tier, and the vendor listing states that image size does not change the price. The list prices are $0.03 (low), $0.06 (medium) and $0.22 (high) per image. On Sume you set resolution to 1K or 2K, so there is no cost reason to choose 1K; choose 2K unless you need a smaller file.
The listing says size is free
The vendor's listing on fal reads that the image size does not change the price, across the three quality levels. Sume's docs repeat the same per-quality list prices and say they are the same for all sizes. Both are list prices before Sume's own pricing, so the number on your invoice is the cost_usd in the endpoint record.
| Quality | 1K list price | 2K list price |
|---|---|---|
| low | $0.03 | $0.03 |
| medium (default) | $0.06 | $0.06 |
| high | $0.22 | $0.22 |
What the quality tier buys
High costs about 3.7 times medium and about 7.3 times low (computed from the list prices above). Spend on high where small type matters, such as packaging and posters. Use low for layout checks and medium for most social assets; that split is my suggestion, not a vendor benchmark.
Requesting 2K
Resolution and aspect ratio together map to exact sizes on the provider side. An edit with no aspect_ratio keeps the source geometry, so for edits you usually leave the ratio off.
curl -X POST "https://api.sume.com/v1/images" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model":"ideogram/ideogram-v4.5","prompt":"menu board, chalk style, title TODAY'S SPECIALS, three lines of text below","quality":"medium","resolution":"2K","aspect_ratio":"3:4"}'Where size still costs you
Price is flat, but any request can outlast the wait: Sume blocks for up to 30 seconds before it returns a 202 job envelope. If that happens, poll GET /v1/jobs/{id}/status and read GET /v1/jobs/{id}/result. A 202 is not a failure.
Where to spend
Because size is free, spend on quality only where it shows:
lowfor layout checks.mediumfor most social assets.highfor packaging, posters and small type.
