How much more does 4K AI video cost than 720p? Multiplier table
Veo 3.1 Fast 4K costs 3 times its 720p rate on Google's page, Omni on Sume is also 3 times, Veo Standard 1.5 times and Kling Video v3 Pro 1 times.

On Google's pricing page Veo 3.1 Fast 4K costs three times its 720p rate, going from $0.10 to $0.30 a second, and Veo 3.1 Standard goes from $0.40 to $0.60, which is 1.5 times. Sume's Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 is also three times, from $0.125 at 720p to $0.375 at 4K. Veo 3.1 Lite lists no 4K at all.
Resolution multipliers
Each multiplier is the highest listed rate divided by the 720p rate (768p for H3 Max). Sume rates are list price times 1.25.
| Model | 720p | Top resolution | Top rate | Multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 Fast (Google) | $0.10 | 4K | $0.30 | 3.0 |
| Veo 3.1 Standard (Google) | $0.40 | 4K | $0.60 | 1.5 |
| Veo 3.1 Lite (Google) | $0.05 | 1080p | $0.08 | 1.6 |
| Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 (Sume) | $0.125 | 4K | $0.375 | 3.0 |
| MiniMax H3 Max (Sume), from 768p | $0.10 | 1080p | $0.20 | 2.0 |
| Kling Video v3 Pro (Sume) | $0.14 | 1080p | $0.14 | 1.0 |
What to take from it
The multiplier matters most for long clips. A 10-second Veo Fast clip is $1.00 at 720p and $3.00 at 4K, and Omni is $1.25 against $3.75.
- Where the multiplier is 3, draft at 720p and spend on 4K only for the final.
- Where it is 1, choose the top resolution at once.
- Check how a size is produced: Sume's catalog lists Omni 4K as a native output, while H3 Max stops at a 1080p refinement from native 768p and has no 2K or 4K.
Budget rule
Multiply your seconds by tries by the draft rate, then add the final at the top rate once. For 10 seconds, three Omni drafts at 720p plus one 4K final is $3.75 plus $3.75, which is $7.50. Running all four tries at 4K would be $15.00, so the draft step halves the bill.
Method
Google rates are copied from the Gemini API pricing page as read on 2026-10-06. Sume rates are the list price per second from the repository catalog multiplied by 1.25, and the Omni list rates of $0.10, $0.15 and $0.30 for 720p, 1080p and 4K give $0.125, $0.1875 and $0.375. Neither side's price includes retakes or finishing steps, and Sume's catalog notes that its list figures are subject to change, so confirm the live price with the catalog endpoint before you budget.
Keep in mind that a multiplier of 1 is not always a bargain, since Kling lists only 720p and 1080p, so its top resolution is not 4K. The multiplier compares the same model against itself, not one model against another.
