The cheapest 4K per second in this comparison is the MiniMax H3 4K option on Sume at $0.20, but it is a 768p native render that is upscaled, so it is not the same product as a native 4K model. On Google's page Veo 3.1 Fast 4K is $0.30 a second and Veo 3.1 Standard 4K is $0.60. Veo 3.1 Lite lists no 4K.

Read the word 4K carefully

The Sume catalog says in so many words that for H3 the 2K and 4K outputs are upscales of the 768p render, and that those sizes are priced only if you request them. Treat that row as a delivery size, not as 4K detail. Omni is the other 4K entry in the Sume catalog, and a separate Sume post covers what Google says about its 1080p and 4K output.

A cheaper way to reach a 4K file

Video Upscale takes a factor from 1.1 to 4 and up to 30 input seconds per job. That is a separate bill from the generation, so total the two when you compare against a single Veo line.

  • Generate at 768p on H3 at $0.075 a second on Sume.
  • Upscale the finished clip with Sume Video Upscale, which is charged per input second.
  • Compare the two clips side by side before you commit a campaign to either path.

Budget check for a 30-second 4K deliverable

Veo 3.1 Fast at $0.30 a second is $9.00 for 30 seconds, and Standard at $0.60 is $18.00. On Sume, three 10-second Omni 4K jobs at $0.375 a second are $11.25, and the H3 upscale route at $0.20 a second is $6.00 for the same length when each job stays inside H3's 5 to 15 second range. The cheapest number is the one with the most caveats, so spend a little of that saving on a visual check.
