HeyGen $29 vs Hedra $15 vs per-second pricing
HeyGen Creator is $29 a month and Hedra Creator $15, per lipsync.com. Sume's avatar video API has no monthly plan and sets a quality tier per request.
lipsync.com's comparison lists HeyGen at Free, Creator $29 and Business $89 per month with 40 or more languages, and Hedra at Free, Creator $15 and Pro $48 with 15 or more languages. Sume's avatar video API does not use a monthly plan: you submit jobs through the API, and a quality field of standard, plus or max sets the tier. The Sume avatar docs read for this post publish no dollar rate, so check the live price before budgeting.
The plan prices
The plan prices below are as listed on 2026-10-03; vendors change them often.
| Vendor | Tiers listed | Languages |
|---|---|---|
| HeyGen | Free, Creator $29, Business $89 | 40+ |
| Hedra | Free, Creator $15, Pro $48 | 15+ |
Plan versus per job
A monthly plan is cheaper per video if you use all of it and costly if you do not. Per-job pricing has no monthly commitment, which suits uneven demand such as a few videos in one month and fifty in the next. Work out your expected monthly volume and compare total spend, not the sticker price.
What Sume's tiers mean
Sume's avatar video takes a script or multi-scene video_inputs that total 4 to 60 seconds, a 720p resolution and one of five aspect ratios. The default quality is plus, standard is the fastest path and max is slower. The docs do not state price differences between tiers, so check before assuming; standard suits drafts and max a final where quality matters.
standard: fastest Sume execution pathplus: default, balancedmax: highest quality, slower turnaround- Duration window: 4 to 60 seconds per video
Budget for retakes
Count the cost of retakes. If each avatar video is billed as its own job, three attempts cost three jobs. A plan with included credits changes that math only up to its cap.
