Arcads and HeyGen both make AI presenter videos, but for different jobs. Arcads is an ad tool: a library of 1,000+ AI actors reading your script, with actors that can hold your product, and plans paid in monthly credits. HeyGen is a general avatar platform: digital twins, photo avatars, voice cloning and video translation, with an API paid pay-as-you-go in US dollars.

Every vendor fact below comes from Arcads' and HeyGen's own pages, read on 2026-09-28 and linked in the table caption. Neither is ranked here; which one fits depends on the input you have and how you want to pay.

How do Arcads and HeyGen compare?

From the Arcads home page, API documentation and credits article, and HeyGen's developer docs index, API pricing and E-commerce Product Videos pages, read 2026-09-28.

What is Arcads AI?

Arcads describes itself as a way to "create, refine, and launch video ads with AI". Its home page lists talking actors, product showcase, unboxing, swap actor, captions and translation tools, plus video models such as Seedance and Kling. Its API works in steps: a product (Arcads' API reference now calls these brands), a folder, a script built with the "situations" Arcads lists, then a generate call. How the Arcads API works walks through each call.

How does each one put my product in an ad?

Arcads puts the product in the actor's hands: its home page lists actors that hold your product, show your app or wear your clothes, next to product showcase and unboxing tools (Arcads). HeyGen works from your catalog instead: its E-commerce Product Videos guide turns each product's name, description, features and images into a prompt, batch-generates one video per SKU, and refreshes it when prices, photos or copy change.

So Arcads fits a hand-picked set of ad concepts with a cast, and HeyGen fits a catalog where every SKU needs its own presenter video.

Which one should I pick?

  • Pick Arcads if you want a ready cast of ad actors, product-holding shots and ad presets in one tool, and a monthly credit plan suits your volume.
  • Pick HeyGen if you need one presenter video per catalog SKU, a digital twin of a real person (through the API only for Enterprise API users, per HeyGen's help article), or API billing without a subscription.
  • Either can fit a plain presenter reading a script: price your real volume on both before you commit, since one bills plan credits and the other bills dollars per generated second.

Is there an avatar API that takes a product image directly?

Yes. Sume's POST /v1/avatar-1.0/talking-video takes a ready avatar, a script of an estimated 4-60 seconds, an optional product_image (a public HTTPS URL) and an optional scene, at 720p, the documented resolution (Generate avatar video). The plus tier costs $0.245 per second without a product image and $0.258 per second with one, plus a 5.5% agent fee by default (API pricing). In current code the avatar speaks English only. UGC-style video ads for products at scale shows the full ad workflow.
