Google Ads Asset Studio keeps projects 55 days: save assets first
Google's Asset Studio help says generated projects and assets are retained for 55 days. Download what you need to keep, and store your own copy.

Google's Asset Studio help page says generated projects and assets are automatically saved and retained for 55 days (read 2026-10-02). If an image or video came out well, download it and store it in your own library, because the page gives no way to extend that window.
What the help page lists
The same page describes Asset Studio as one place to create, edit, manage and share assets. It says image generation is powered by the Nano Banana Pro model and that SynthID, a digital watermark for checking whether an image was generated or edited with Google AI, is built in (read 2026-10-02).
| Item | What Google says |
|---|---|
| Retention | Projects and assets saved automatically for 55 days |
| Image model | Nano Banana Pro |
| Watermark | SynthID built in |
| Sharing | Links let teammates review without Google Ads access |
| Video | Video builder for horizontal and vertical ads, trimming and voiceover |
A simple save routine
Treat the 55 days as a working window, not an archive.
- Download each approved image or clip the day you approve it.
- Name files with campaign and ratio so you can find them later.
- Keep the prompt next to the file; the help page does not promise that prompts are kept.
- Store originals in your own bucket or drive, not only inside the ad account.
Where Sume fits
Sume is not a replacement for Asset Studio inside Google Ads. It is a separate API that returns image and video files you can upload to any ad account. Sume mirrors generated outputs into Sume-owned media URLs and tells integrations to store that URL, not a raw provider link (Media inputs). The docs I read do not state a retention period, so keep your own copy there too.
If you like the Nano Banana Pro look, see what Sume's Nano Banana Pro API offers. Be aware that Google's watermark claim applies to assets made in Google's tools; see SynthID and C2PA on assets made in Google Ads.
