Open your Asset library or an asset report and look for the 'AI label' column. Google's AI label page says asset label statuses live there, and that you can add the column if it is missing and filter by 'AI label'. When a campaign may need a label, Google shows an in-product prompt called 'Review assets', and you choose either 'Label this asset as created or edited with AI' or 'Don't label this asset'.

The same page documents three entry points: during campaign creation, from the details page of an existing asset, and when generating new assets with Google's tools.

The three flows

Each flow ends with the same two choices. The steps differ in where you start.

Where Sume fits

Sume does not set the label; you do, in Google Ads. What Sume gives you is the facts to decide with. A generated clip from Sume video generation is created with AI. A clip you only cut with video trim, or a caption burn from video captions, is a different case, and Google's page does not say whether such edits count as 'edited with AI'. Decide that with your counsel and write the decision down.

One practical trick: keep a table per campaign with columns for asset name, Sume job id, operation (generated, trimmed, captioned), and the label you chose. When Google's column shows a status you did not set, you can compare it to your table in a minute.

Steps

  • Add the 'AI label' column to your asset report.
  • Filter for assets with no designation.
  • For each, open Manage AI label and pick one of the two choices.
  • Click Done or Save so the status is stored.
  • Re-run the filter and confirm the column shows what you chose.

Reading the column

The column is your audit trail. A blank cell means you have not decided; a labeled cell means someone has. When you sort an asset report, look first for blanks on assets you generated with AI, because those are the ones the Review assets prompt will ask about, and then for labels you did not set.

If you manage many assets, filter by the column and work through the blanks in one session. Google offers the filter and a sub filter, so you can isolate, for example, only labeled assets and check them against your records.

Caveat

The label setting does not guarantee compliance with any regulation, as the page says. If you upload a video to YouTube from within Google Ads you are also asked whether AI was used, to follow YouTube's policy for organic videos, so expect a second question there.
