Table by script length
The arithmetic is characters / 1,000 times the rate. Characters include spaces and punctuation, and inline expression tags such as [laughs] are text you send, so count them. I have not assumed how many seconds of audio a script yields; that depends on the language and pace.
| Script length | v4 until Oct 12 | v4 regular | v4 Turbo until Oct 12 | v4 Turbo regular |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 500 characters | $0.0110 | $0.0400 | $0.0055 | $0.0200 |
| 1,500 characters | $0.0330 | $0.1200 | $0.0165 | $0.0600 |
| 5,000 characters | $0.1100 | $0.4000 | $0.0550 | $0.2000 |
What to budget
For a batch of 1,000 scripts at 1,500 characters (1.5 million characters) the regular rates are $120 on v4 and $60 on v4 Turbo; the promotional rates give $33 and $16.50. Use the regular columns for anything that will run past October 12. The model choice is covered in Is v4 Turbo half the price of v4.
