ElevenLabs lists Scribe v2 at $0.22 per hour. Sume STT 1.0 is $0.01 per audio minute, which is $0.60 per hour. For 7.5 hours of audio the totals are $1.65 and $4.50. Sume costs about 2.7 times as much per hour of audio.

The limits on the Sume side

Sume STT reserves from an audio-minute estimate. If you omit duration_seconds it reserves one minute, and the maximum is 10 minutes per request. A 7.5-hour recording therefore has to be cut into pieces of at most 10 minutes each: 45 requests of 10 minutes. Cut points matter if you need a continuous transcript, so plan overlap handling on your side.

The ElevenLabs page excerpt read for this post lists hourly prices only; it does not state a per-file duration cap, so no comparison on that point is made here.

When each wins

For bulk archive transcription where the lowest price matters, ElevenLabs' hourly rate is lower in this comparison. For short clips that already live in a Sume project, such as the audio from a generated video, the $0.01 per minute rate keeps the work inside one balance and one job format. Verify the live price at the Sume catalog before you budget.
