ElevenLabs music commercial use: credit required, download caps

ElevenLabs says Music v2.5 tracks can be used commercially with an ElevenMusic credit and caps lossless downloads by plan. What that means on Sume.

On ElevenLabs' page for Music v2.5, commercial use of a track is permitted, but an ElevenMusic credit is required, and lossless downloads are capped by plan: five a day on the free plan and 400 a month on Pro. Those are ElevenLabs' rules for ElevenMusic. They do not carry over to music you generate on Sume, whose docs describe a different model of access.

The ElevenLabs facts are from its Music v2.5 post, read 2026-09-29. The Sume facts are from the Music Router and Music 1.0 docs.

What are the ElevenLabs Music v2.5 rules?

These are ElevenLabs' statements as they read on the page, not terms we tested. Check its current license before you ship a track.

Do the same caps apply to music made on Sume?

No. They belong to ElevenMusic's plans. On Sume, music comes from the Music Router, which routes to sume/music-auto (Lyria 3.5 today) or an explicit lyria-3.5 or lyria-3-pro. Every Music Router model charges the fixed Music price per audio generation, and Music 1.0 lists $0.125 per accepted generation. The Music docs describe a price per generation, and do not describe a daily or monthly download count.

Licensing terms are not in the model docs. For what you may do with generated audio, read Sume's Terms of Service rather than inferring it from another vendor's page.

How do I keep a Sume track I like?

A finished job returns an audio artifact on media.sume.com; read the artifact where type is audio. Sume's docs say to use those Sume media URLs, because raw provider URLs are not public outputs. Save the file you approve, and keep the job id next to it so you can find how it was made.

curl https://api.sume.com/v1/jobs/job_123/result \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY"

What should I check before using any AI track commercially?

  • Read the credit or attribution rule of the service that made the track, on that service's own page.
  • Read the plan's download allowance if you need many lossless files.
  • Keep the prompt and job record with the audio file.

How do the two ways of counting compare?

The units differ. ElevenLabs' free plan counts lossless downloads per day and its Pro plan counts them per month. Sume's Music 1.0 docs price each accepted generation at a fixed $0.125, whatever the prompt length. So twenty tracks you decide to keep, generated once each, come to $2.50 on Music 1.0 before any retries.

That arithmetic covers generation only. It says nothing about licensing, and it does not include the platform fee or other Sume charges, so check the current rate at generation time.
