Does Seedance aspect ratio change the price? 21:9 vs 9:16 on Sume
Aspect ratio barely moves Seedance prices on Sume: 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1 cost the same and 21:9 or 4:3 add under a percent. The 720p table and the pixel sizes.

Barely. A 10-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p costs $5.778 at 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1, $5.8062 at 21:9 and $5.8144 at 4:3. Seedance bills on pixels over time, and only the ratios whose frame has slightly more pixels cost slightly more.
Ten seconds at 720p by ratio
| Aspect ratio | Seedance 2.5 | Seedance 2 | 2 Fast | 2 Mini |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9:16 | $5.778 | $3.78 | $3.024 | $1.89 |
| 16:9 | $5.778 | $3.78 | $3.024 | $1.89 |
| 1:1 | $5.778 | $3.78 | $3.024 | $1.89 |
| 3:4 | $5.8144 | $3.8038 | $3.0431 | $1.9019 |
| 4:3 | $5.8144 | $3.8038 | $3.0431 | $1.9019 |
| 21:9 | $5.8062 | $3.7985 | $3.0388 | $1.8992 |
The same at 1080p
The pattern holds at higher resolutions. A 10-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 1080p is $14.2155 at 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1, because those frames are all 2,073,600 pixels. At 21:9 (2205x945) it is $14.2849, about half a percent more.
Resolution moves the price far more than ratio: the same clip at 720p is $5.778, so the step from 720p to 1080p is bigger than any ratio change.
Why it moves a little
Sume's estimator maps each resolution and ratio to a fixed frame size and prices width times height times seconds times 24 fps. 16:9 is 1280x720, 9:16 is 720x1280 and 1:1 is 960x960, all 921,600 pixels, so they match. 21:9 is 1470x630 and 4:3 is 1112x834, a little over, so they cost a little more.
What this means for formats
- Choose the ratio for the placement (vertical feed, landscape page, square tile), not for the bill.
- A 21:9 banner costs under one percent more than a 16:9 clip at the same length.
- Resolution and length are the real levers; see the per-second table for each tier.
